Yaesu FT-991A

The FT-991A is a do-everything HF/50/144/430 MHz all-mode base/shack radio — a frequent choice for multi-band ORLP base nodes. A single USB-B cable carries CAT plus a built-in USB audio codec. USB setup: USB-A to USB-B cable enumerates as a Silicon Labs dual CP210x (Enhanced COM = CAT, Standard COM = PTT via RTS/DTR) plus a USB Audio CODEC. Install the Yaesu driver on Windows; Linux/macOS auto-detect. Default CAT baud 38400. CAT: Yaesu CAT — frequency, mode, PTT, VFO, squelch. Audio: Built-in USB audio codec — no external interface needed. Set the DATA/PRESET menu so transmit audio is taken from USB. PTT: CAT command, or hardware RTS/DTR on the Standard COM port.
