Link repeaters worldwide — free and open source
The Open Radio Linking Project is modern, open-source VoIP linking for amateur radio. Connect repeaters across the globe, with bridges to AllStar and EchoLink — running on a Raspberry Pi, Linux, BSD, Windows, or macOS.
A linking network for the modern era
Amateur-radio linking has been around for decades, but much of the software powering it today was last updated when dial-up was the norm. ORLP exists because the hobby deserves better — a clean daemon that does one thing well, approachable whether you’ve held a licence for 40 years or you’re still studying for your Technician exam.
Why ORLP
🖥️ Runs on anything
If Python 3.11 runs on it, ORLP runs on it — Raspberry Pi, an old desktop, a mini PC, a VM, or Docker. No proprietary hardware or parallel-port boards.
✨ Modern & simple
A clean, purpose-built daemon — not decades of telephony infrastructure. A setup wizard handles hardware detection, radio config, and registration.
🔗 Bridges the networks
Native ORLP linking with bridges to AllStar (IAX2) and EchoLink, so your repeater can reach operators across multiple networks.
🆓 Open & free
Licensed AGPL v3, developed in the open. No premium tier, no feature gating, no subscription — infrastructure for a public hobby should be genuinely free.
