Yaesu FT-891

The FT-891 connects via USB for CAT control. It does not have a built-in USB audio codec — an external audio interface is required. USB setup: Connect a USB-A to USB-B cable to the rear USB jack. Installs as a Silicon Labs CP210x virtual COM port. No driver needed on Linux or macOS. CAT: Yaesu CAT protocol. Frequency, mode, PTT, VFO, squelch control. Baud rate configurable in menu (default 38400). Audio: Use the 6-pin mini-DIN DATA jack on the rear. Pin 1: TX audio input (computer to radio). Pin 4: RX audio output (discriminator/flat audio, radio to computer). Pin 3: PTT input (active low). Connect to a USB audio interface. A Digirig Mobile works well with the appropriate FT-891 cable.
