UPS HAT (Battery Backup)

A UPS HAT (PiSugar, Geekworm, Waveshare, etc.) adds a battery so the node rides through brief power outages and, critically, shuts down cleanly rather than yanking power from the SD card. Why it matters: Unclean power loss is a leading cause of corrupted node images. A UPS HAT both keeps a node up during short outages and signals the Pi to shut down gracefully on extended ones, protecting the filesystem. Note: Size the battery for your runtime needs and verify the HAT can signal the OS (via GPIO/I²C) to trigger a clean shutdown. Pair with the NVMe/endurance-SD guidance for maximum resilience.
