Retevis RT97 / RT97S

The RT97/RT97S is a compact sealed portable repeater popular for low-cost and portable analog deployments. It works for simple ORLP linking but offers limited external control compared with a full repeater. Interface: The unit exposes a programming/accessory connector; for linking you typically tap RX audio, TX audio, and a PTT/COS path to a USB radio interface. Because it is a sealed appliance, expect less flexibility than a DR-1X or BCR — confirm available control lines for your firmware revision before committing it to a permanent node. CTCSS: Program tone in the unit, or use ORLP usbradio CTCSS — not both. Programming: Set frequency, offset, and tone with Retevis software ahead of deployment. Best suited to portable or temporary links rather than a high-traffic permanent repeater.
