Radio-Specific USB Programming/CAT Cable

Manufacturer/radio-specific USB cables (Icom OPC-478UC, Yaesu SCU-17, Kenwood PG-5G, and the 2-pin Kenwood "K1" cable for Baofeng/Wouxun/Quansheng HTs) handle programming and, on some, CAT/PTT. Useful for setting frequency/CTCSS before deployment and, where supported, runtime control. Why it matters: Pairs with the HT and budget-radio entries (Baofeng, QYT, etc.) that have no native USB — the K1 cable is how you program them with CHIRP. Caveat: These cables embed an FTDI, CP210x, Prolific, or CH340 chip — counterfeit-chip driver issues apply. Genuine cables (especially the SCU-17) avoid trouble on a permanent node.
