Prolific PL2303 USB-Serial Adapter

The Prolific PL2303 is a long-standing USB-serial chip used in many older programming/CAT cables (some Yaesu mobiles install as PL2303). It functions for CAT and PTT keying. Why it matters: You'll encounter it in legacy cables already on hand. Caveat: Newer Windows Prolific drivers refuse to work with older/clone PL2303 silicon (the infamous "Code 10" / counterfeit warning), so it can be a Windows headache. Linux handles it via the pl2303 module without fuss — which suits a Linux-based ORLP node. For new purchases, prefer CP210x or FTDI.
