Icom ID-52A

The ID-52A is a D-STAR/FM handheld useful as a low-power personal-node radio (use FM for analog ORLP). It connects via USB-C and supports Bluetooth. USB setup: USB-C provides a virtual serial port for CI-V control and cloning. Use ORLP's Icom CI-V driver for frequency/mode; confirm the CI-V address in the menu. Bluetooth: Supports Bluetooth (SPP-style serial) for wireless control as an alternative to USB. Audio: The HT does not present a node-grade USB audio codec — interface receive/transmit audio and PTT via the speaker/mic accessory jacks into a USB audio interface, as with other HTs. PTT: Via CI-V command, or active-low PTT on the accessory jack.
