Icom ID-5100A

The ID-5100A is a dual-band D-STAR/FM mobile commonly used for analog ORLP nodes (use FM mode; D-STAR digital audio should not be linked into analog ORLP). It supports CI-V CAT control and optional Bluetooth. CI-V setup: Connect a CI-V cable from the control head to a USB-to-CI-V or USB-serial adapter. Confirm the CI-V address in the menu (Icom model-specific default) and set the data rate. Set CI-V Transceive ON for frequency readback. Audio: Take flat/discriminator-style receive audio to your USB audio interface input; feed TX audio via the data path. Use FM mode for analog linking. PTT: Key via CI-V command or the PTT line. Bluetooth: Optional UT-133A unit enables a Bluetooth headset — not used for node control.
