Icom IC-7300

The IC-7300 is one of the most widely deployed radios in ORLP and AllStar nodes. It connects via USB providing CI-V CAT control and a built-in USB audio codec — no external audio interface is required. USB setup: Connect a USB-A to USB-B cable. Windows requires the Silicon Labs CP210x driver (download from Icom). Linux and macOS detect it automatically. The IC-7300 presents two COM ports — one for CI-V, one for PTT keying via hardware RTS/DTR. CI-V address defaults to 94h. Audio: Built-in USB audio codec. In the IC-7300 menu, set MOD INPUT > USB and AF OUTPUT > USB. No external audio interface needed. PTT: Key PTT via CI-V command or via hardware RTS/DTR on the second virtual COM port.
