Icom IC-718

The IC-718 is a long-running budget 100W HF base. It predates Icom’s USB codec, so control is CI-V (CT-17 or USB-to-CI-V cable) and audio is via the ACC connector. Control is CI-V — connect a CT-17 level converter or a USB-to-CI-V cable (CP210x/FTDI) to the node computer. There is no built-in USB codec, so receive/transmit audio comes from the rear ACC/DATA connector to a USB radio interface (DMK URI, RA-series DRA, RIM, etc.). PTT: key over CI-V, or from the interface's PTT line to the ACC connector. Set the CI-V address before deployment.
